RCM speech-arts exam
Students will prepare to take the internationally-recognized Royal Conservatory Speech-Arts and Drama Examination. Parents can register to receive an independent assessment of how their child is progressing, and can use these results for future school applications or resumes for acting auditions in the community. Topics explored are poetry recitation, storytelling, speeches, mime, drama, and discussion skills.
School presentations
Many students have fear of getting up in front of their class and presenting to their classmates and teacher. Nailing a presentation at school can greatly improve an overall grade. Whether your child needs help practicing the delivery of a presentation or just with their slideshow, we can help every step of the way.
MC
Your child could be the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at the next school talent show, or maybe at your community’s next children’s festival. An MC needs to be confident, personable, and commanding of the room. Nail It will show your child how to write an MC script and present one! They will learn to communicate clearly important information about the show and excite an audience!
Acting / Auditions
We will help your child get ready to star in the school play or musical. They’ll learn to memorize lines, use emotion, use reactions like facial expressions, and even strengthen the power in their voice so they can be heard all the way in the back of the theatre. We even do audition training! Your child will prepare contrasting monologues or musical theatre songs and learn how to prepare audition material fast.
School interview preparation
Do you want your child to get into a school, but they have to pass an interview first? Your child might mumble their answers, use one-word responses, or even worse…say nothing at all! Maybe your child can’t sit still and is always fidgeting with everything around them. Nail It teachers will show how to give a great first impression. Our mock interview training introduces your child to the environment and the types of questions that might be asked during an interview. Regardless of who is conducting the school interview, they will think your child is a perfect fit!
